The Western Cape Anti-Crime (WCACF) was born out of a need to get the communities across the Cape Flats to respond to the ongoing gang violence.

The Forum was started in Manenberg  in 1995 as a response to the gang violence  in the area. The members of the Manenberg Anti-Crime Forum realized that they cannot continue to fight the gangs in the area on their own.
